React Native vs Flutter: Choosing a Mobile App Framework for Your Nepal-based Startup

August 8, 2026By KTM IT Services Team

Founders often ask us to just pick "the best" mobile framework. There isn't one — but there is usually a better fit for your specific situation.

Where React Native wins

If your team (or the team you'll hire later) already knows React or JavaScript, React Native lets you share logic and even some UI code between your web app and mobile app. For startups planning a web dashboard alongside a customer-facing app — like our bike tourism booking app — that overlap saves real development time.

Where Flutter wins

Flutter tends to deliver more consistent pixel-perfect UI across both iOS and Android without platform-specific tweaking, and its animation performance is excellent out of the box. If your app is UI-heavy — think custom interactive elements, not just forms and lists — Flutter often gets there faster.

What actually matters more than the framework

  • Team continuity: whichever framework your long-term maintainers already know beats the "theoretically better" option
  • Native module needs: if you need deep integration with specific hardware or SDKs, check library maturity on your chosen framework first
  • App store review risk: both frameworks are well-accepted by Apple and Google today; this is no longer a real differentiator

Our default recommendation

For Nepal-based startups building their first app with a small team and a companion web presence, we lean React Native for the shared codebase advantage — but we scope every project on its own merits before recommending a stack.
