From Idea to Launch: How Long Does It Take to Build a Web App in Nepal?
"How long will this take?" is the second question after budget, and the honest answer needs a breakdown, not a single number.
Discovery and scoping: 1-2 weeks
Before any code is written, we map out the actual workflows, user roles, and integrations needed. Skipping this step is the single biggest cause of blown timelines later — vague requirements turn into scope creep mid-build.
Design and architecture: 1-3 weeks
Screens and data models get planned before development starts, particularly for anything involving payment flows or multi-role permissions, where a wrong early decision is expensive to unwind later.
Core development: 4-12+ weeks
A lean MVP — a booking system, a simple storefront, a member portal with a couple of roles — usually lands in the 4-8 week range. Anything with multiple integrations (payment gateways, SMS, third-party APIs), complex permissions, or a native mobile app alongside the web app extends into 10-16+ weeks.
Testing and staged rollout: 1-2 weeks
We run real transactions through payment integrations in a staged environment before full launch — this isn't optional for anything handling money.
What actually blows up a timeline
- Scope changing mid-build without adjusting the plan
- Waiting on third-party approvals (payment gateway merchant accounts, domain/SSL setup) that are outside our control
- Content and assets (copy, images, legal pages) not being ready when development needs them
Our approach to keeping timelines honest
We scope in milestones with concrete deliverables, so you know exactly where the project stands at every checkpoint instead of getting a vague "almost done" a week before the original deadline.
