App Store & Play Store Launch Checklist We Actually Use

September 3, 2026By KTM IT Services Team

A rejected app store submission can cost days of back-and-forth review cycles. Most rejections are avoidable with a pre-submission checklist.

Metadata and assets

Screenshots for every required device size, a description that accurately reflects functionality (both stores reject mismatched claims), and a privacy policy URL that's actually live and accessible.

Permissions

Every requested permission needs a clear, justified purpose — apps requesting broad permissions "just in case" get flagged more often than apps that request only what they use.

Test accounts for reviewers

If your app requires login, provide working test credentials in the submission notes — a reviewer who can't get past a login screen will reject on that basis alone.

Crash-free launch

Test on real devices, not just simulators/emulators — reviewers do test on physical hardware, and a crash during review is an automatic rejection.

Post-approval monitoring

Watch crash reports and reviews closely in the first 48 hours — early issues are cheaper to fix before they tank your rating.
